South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council (“The Councils”) take your privacy seriously. We will use your information in order to offer landlords a full property management service and to allow local families access to quality local housing. This notice sets out what we will do with your personal information and who we may share it with in respect of the above.

 

What information about you do we collect?

 

We collect the following information:

  • Address
  • Email address
  • Contact telephone number

 

How do we collect information about you?

Relevant personal data will be collected:

  • We collect personal data directly from you, when you enter it on our web form to register your interest in either becoming a landlord, or showing that you have a housing need as a tenant.

 

How will your personal data be used?

Your personal data will be used in the following ways:

  • Your contact details will be used to contact you, once you have registered your interest in either becoming a landlord, or showing that you have a housing need as a tenant.

 

The Legal basis for processing your data

Article 6 1(a) Consent

 

The Council collects, uses and shares certain data about you on the basis that you have given us your consent to do so. You may withdraw your consent and ask us not to process your data at any point by contacting the Council’s Data Protection Officer (see section on Data Protection Officer below).

 

Article 6 1(b) performance of a contract

 

In order to offer the services provided by SeaMoor Lettings, the Council needs to collect your personal data and use it to contact you. Without collecting your personal data, any SeaMoor Lettings services, cannot be provided to you.

 

Article 6 1(e) Public task

 

Without processing the relevant personal data, we would not be able to perform tasks carried out in the public interest, or in the exercise of official authority.

 

The purpose of SeaMoor Lettings is to to offer landlords a full property management service and to allow local families access to quality local housing. The Council has a duty to use innovative ways to help tackle the housing crisis.

 

Who will your personal data be shared with?

The SeaMoor Lettings Portal will be administered by an external provider, 10ninety. Your personal data will be stored on their database, so that authorised officers of the Council can access it.

 

The Councils will never sell your data to anyone else.

 

Transferring of data outside of the EU

Your data will not be transferred outside of the EU. It will be securely stored electronically within the UK only, unless it was necessary for safeguarding or for the prevention and detection of crime.

 

Length of time we keep your information

The Councils will retain personal data from the year the records was created, for 3 years.
